Description of the Position:
Part-time music therapy position with Small Steps Music, L.L.C.; position has the potential to increase to full time. Clients are seen in clinics, in their homes, and in community-based schools and facilities; extensive driving may be required. This position will primarily be direct service, but will also incorporate some administrative responsibilities. Duties will include 1:1 and group music therapy and adaptive music programs; 1:1 and group music lessons; program design and implementation; client assessment and documentation; collaborating with community partners; and supporting fundraising activities and special events as needed. Client ages range from infant to geriatric and populations served include children with autism, speech and language delays, at-risk youth, mental health clients, seniors, and special education students. The therapist will be an employee of Small Steps Music, L.L.C.

Job Responsibilities and Performance Standards
The music therapist must be able to:
- Communicate effectively with other professionals
- Communicate effectively and consistently with parents, caregivers, and clients
- Conduct assessments and client evaluations
- Design and implement appropriate treatment plans based on client needs
- Observe, analyze, and record clients' participation, reactions during treatment sessions, modifying treatment programs as needed
- Provide clear, concise, and complete documentation and data related to client progress or regression during sessions/lessons
- Represent the company in a manner consistent with its mission and values at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
- MT-BC certification (or eligibility to sit for the national board examination)
- Valid License to practice music therapy in the state of Georgia [LPMT] (issued by the Georgia Secretary of State Professional Licensing Board)
- Individual Professional Liability Insurance
- Valid GA Driver’s License and insurance coverage
- Reliable transportation and willingness to serve clients throughout the seven-county service area Small Steps Music serves
- Have outstanding time management and organizational skills
- Be self-motivated, and able to work independently
